‘Coping Kits’ Help Ease the Pain of Sickle Cell Disease

A grant from the Association of Health Opportunity Through Partnership in Education (HOPE) supports the distribution of “coping kits” to patients battling sickle cell disease. Filled with items that help reduce pain and improve the quality of life for children and adults with this inherited blood disorder, the kits available at the IU Health Simon Cancer Center are designed to reduce reliance on pharmacologic therapies for pain.
