A mother and daughter create lifelong memories during historic Game 6

Lydia Stanley was on a conference call for work when she learned she was the lucky winner of IU Health Foundation’s Game 6 ticket sweepstakes.

“I was in disbelief and so excited at the same time,” Stanley said over email. “I couldn’t wait to tell my daughter when she arrived home from summer camp.”

Stanley and her daughter attend a few Pacers games each season, and she said they usually sit high in the balcony.

“My daughter begged to go to a game earlier in the playoffs, but it wasn’t in the budget,” Stanley said. That made attending Game 6 even more special.

“The environment was something I’ve never experienced before,” she said. “I’ll never forget the wonder in my daughter’s eyes after every basket – the cheering, the outfits, and being part of such a huge win. As a lifelong Indy resident, this playoff run has been so big for our city.”

Stanley said she was proud to join the group of 350 who contributed more than $43,000 to IU Health’s Area of Greatest Needs Fund through the sweepstakes.

“Even if I didn’t win, I was more than happy to support the greater good for residents here in Indiana,” she said. “Every amount helps no matter how small or large.”

Congratulations to the other Game 6 sweepstakes winner, Anthony D from Indianapolis.
