Jeans Therapy: School Nurse’s “Denim Day” Funds Mammograms
To raise awareness and funds for breast cancer, East Jay Elementary School allows teachers to wear jeans in October in exchange for a donation. In the campaign led by school nurse Lori DeRome, the money goes to IU Health Jay Hospital to cover the cost of mammograms for women who need the preventive screenings but can’t afford them.
