Patients with dementia find ‘Friends’ in Saxony and Tipton
Thanks to IU Health Foundation grants, IU Health Saxony and IU Health Tipton hospitals train every hospital staff member to meet the needs of older patients with dementia or other cognitive disorders—whether or not the team member has regular contact with geriatric patients. The program also provides materials that can help seniors with dementia deal with the trauma of a hospital visit.
